This research opportunity focuses on investigating sleep neurophysiology, measured objectively through sleep electroencephalography (EEG). The project utilizes rich datasets from various cohorts, including clinical populations and healthy individuals across different age groups, all available through the National Sleep Research Resource. Students will have the flexibility to explore a variety of questions based on their interests, ranging from sleep patterns in specific populations to the relationship between sleep metrics and demographic or health outcomes. As part of the experience, students will gain hands-on training in: i) processing and analyzing sleep EEG data; ii) performing statistical analyses to derive meaningful insights; iii) visualizing findings using R, enabling clear and impactful presentation of results. This project provides an opportunity to develop valuable technical skills and contribute to advancing our understanding of sleep and its role in health and disease.

Publications listed below are automatically derived from MEDLINE/PubMed and other sources, which might result in incorrect or missing publications. Faculty can login to make corrections and additions.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
