The metabolic effect of exposure to circadian disruption in a naïve cohort of medical students
Role Description: The major goal of the study is to determine whether glycemic variability and disrupted sleep in medical students increase during two weeks of a clinical rotation with shiftwork compared to two weeks of a clinical rotation without shiftwork.
Role: Principal Investigator

American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)
Changes in heart rate variability in response to chronic circadian disruption with and without sleep restriction
Role Description: The major goals are to determine 1) whether chronic circadian disruption with concurrent sleep restriction progressively increases parasympathetic withdrawal over 3 weeks of exposure; 2) whether minimizing concurrent sleep loss during chronic circadian disruption partially mitigates increases in parasympathetic withdrawal over 3 weeks of exposure; and 3) whether autonomic nervous system activity recovers to baseline after 1 week of recovery sleep following 3 weeks of exposure to circadian disruption with or without sleep restriction
Role: Principal Investigator

Understanding how knowledge impacts behavioral sleep health: Sleep scientists in the context of the HAPA model
Role Description: The major goals are to determine 1) whether sleep scientists practice healthy sleep habits; and 2) how sleep scientists self-report their attitudes, perceived behavioral control, and action planning with regards to best practices in sleep health, within the context of the Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) model
Role: Principal Investigator
