Based at the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women's Hospital, our small team is based on-site in New Mexico and has been carrying out community-engaged research on Navajo Nation to advance health equity for 15 years. Our work includes projects to address water insecurity, promote healthy beverage intakes and adequate hydration, and addressing nutrition insecurity through a Food is Medicine Program for heart failure patients. The intern would provide assistance depending on skills, learning goals, and program needs such as: - Qualitative / quantitative data analysis and manuscript writing - Assistance with grant writing and concept proposals - Data collection and data cleaning - Mentorship of Diné (Navajo) students interested in public health - Infographics, communications and dissemination documents - Assistance with community-led intervention development, such as social marketing campaign The position will be virtual allowing for on-site work, depending on availability and field-based opportunities. Since 1995, our team has been collaborating with Partners In Health / Socios En Salud, a non-profit organization based in Peru. Our current portfolio of research focuses on Indigenous health, water security and climate change. We are working in Lima and Cusco to carry out community-engaged projects to tackle climate change impacts on maternal child health, particularly related to water scarcity. Depending on the student's skills, learning goals, and project needs, responsibilities could include: - Qualitative and/or quantitative analysis of existing data and /or public datasets - Assistance with manuscripts and grant writing / submission - Assistance with data collection and data cleaning The position may be virtual or onsite depending on availability, timing and role.
