The student could design a project that evaluates the clinical results of a surgical procedure in pediatric sports medicine and or fracture care. Surgical procedures on the shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle are done routinely and can be evaluated. For example: "The clinical results of ankle stablization surgery in children" or "Arthroscopic treatment of shoulder instability in children". The student would pick his or her area of interest and an appropriate topic would be chosen through consultation with a mentor.
