Overview
Jonathan S. Briseno, Ph.D. (he/him) is a Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow in Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance in the Primary Care Behavioral Integration department. He obtained his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Most recently, he completed his APA accredited internship at Yale School of Medicine in Clinical and Community Psychology with placements at the Connecticut Mental Health Center's Hispanic Clinic doing clinical work, and The Consultation Center at Yale where he participated in providing research and consultation services at the New Haven Adult Education Center. His research area of focus is on Latine, Immigrant, and LGBTQ communities with an emphasis on an intersectional framework in access to care services. He is also interested in applied research designing culturally responsive interventions to best meet the needs of individuals within this population while utilizing intersectional and minority stress frameworks. Currently, Jonathan focuses his research on LGBTQ mental health and access to services as well as provider training to better prepare incoming clinicians be better equipped in providing culturally responsive services. His dissertation in which qualitative data was collected in Spanish and Portuguese was focused on LGBTQ Latinx asylum seeking population and their experience in accessing services and resources in the U.S.

Previous clinical experience include Bedford VA Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Chelsea, and Fenway Health. Previous teaching experience includes the following institutions, University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston), The Boston Leadership Institute (BLI), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Texas AM International University (TAMIU).
