Overview
Dr Sophie Allende-Richter is a practicing pediatrician at Boston Children’s Hospital and a clinical Instructor at the Harvard Medical School. She earned her Medical Degree from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium in 2002, completed her Pediatrics residency at the Floating Hospital at Tufts University in 2008. Prior to residency she worked for 3 years as a research “fellow”, first at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and later on in GI & Nutrition at the Boston Children’s Hospital.

After completing residency, she returned to Boston Children’s Hospital in 2009, where she has been working for more than 10 years as a Pediatric and Adolescent primary care provider at the Martha Eliot clinic, caring for underserved youths. This practice has led her to develop interest towards health disparity issues, leading several quality health initiatives and clinical research to explore new strategies to improve health care access and outcome among undeserved youths in the US and in resource constrained countries, notably Haiti and Rwanda.

She is also involved in teaching activities, as clinical preceptor for second year Harvard Medical students and has mentored several MPH and premedical students who have moved on to successful career.

Areas of research interests: Adolescent Health, Health Care Transition, Reproductive Health, Digital health, AYA with SHCN, Patient Centered Outcome Research and Global Health.

Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
