overview I am a Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and the Associate Director for Inpatient Medicine and Critical Care at Partners In Health (PIH). My clinical areas of focus are critical care and procedural medicine. My work with PIH is directed towards improving access to high quality inpatient and critical care medicine in low-resource settings around the world. I received a BA in Philosophy and Physics from Williams College in 2005 and an MD from Duke University School of Medicine in 2012. I completed internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and subsequently joined the Harvard/BWH Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Training Program in 2016 after working for a year with PIH in Rwanda. My current research efforts include emergency and critical care health systems evaluation in low-income countries. My work has identified critical gaps in the provision of services and informed national-level policies. I am also active in the global response to COVID-19. I am a managing editor of the on-line peer-reviewed COVID-19 clinical guide, COVIDprotocols.org and serve as an external expert advisor on COVID-19 treatment and oxygen therapy to organizations including the United States Agency for International Development and Ministries of Health in several countries.
