Overview
I am a staff psychologist in the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.

I serve on faculty in the following programs:
Health Promotion and Resiliency Intervention Research Center (HPRIR) at the Mongan Institute
MGH Behavioral Medicine Program (BMED)
MGH Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine (BHI)
MGH Cancer Center Center for Psychiatric Oncology and Behavioral Sciences (Psycho-Oncology Services)

My formal training includes:
Postdoctoral Fellowship, Integrative Medicine Research (3 year, NIH T32), Harvard Medical School
Postdoctoral Fellowship, MGH Psychiatry (BMED), Harvard Medical School
Certificate Program in Clinical Effectiveness, T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health
Predoctoral Fellowship, MGH Psychiatry (BMED), Harvard Medical School
PhD, Clinical Psychology (Health concentration), University of Miami
BA with Highest Honors and Robertson Scholar, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

My research seeks to bridge behavioral medicine, mental health, and psycho-oncology. With a highly collaborative, transdisciplinary team of colleagues, mentors, and trainees, I conduct parallel lines of clinical research examining (1) fear of recurrence and (2) insomnia among adults affected by cancer and other health conditions, with an emphasis on mind-body and behavioral interventions for managing these concerns.

From 2020-2022, I co-chaired the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Integrative Health and Spirituality Special Interest Group.

Efficacy of Synchronous, Virtual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia across Phases of Cancer Survivorship
Role Description: The proposed project is a randomized controlled trial (N=198) primarily evaluating the efficacy of the SSP vs. EUC on insomnia severity among cancer survivors. We will examine secondary outcomes associated with cancer-related insomnia including subjective and objective sleep measures (i.e., sleep diaries, actigraphy), emotional distress, fatigue, and use of sleep medications. Notably, most CBT-I trials with cancer survivors who have completed primary treatment with curative intent (i.e., curvivors) but not those in treatment or living with metastatic cancer (i.e., metavivors). To enhance generalizability, this RCT will stratify enrollment by survivorship phase (1:1:1).
