Are you interested in medical education and curricular evaluation? Our team is seeking a medical student to assist us with a new project evaluating the effectiveness of our internal medicine residency's curriculum in outpatient medicine and primary care. Our residents receive a longitudinal classroom-based curriculum on the evaluation and management of the conditions most commonly encountered in the outpatient setting. We are seeking to design a reliable system that measures whether residents are acquiring and retaining the specific knowledge that the curriculum seeks to impart. We seek a medical student to help us conceptualize, implement, and evaluate the use of low-stakes testing to determine curricular efficacy on a program level and to provide residents with individualized information about their progress. The project will fit within a larger framework of competency-based medical education and promotion of a growth mindset among IM residents.
