Overview

Mentoring
Available: 02/10/25, Expires: 05/31/25

Dr. Vazquez-Garcia’s lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute is seeking motivated HMS medical students to engage in scholarly research projects in cancer biology and computational oncology. Our lab focuses on data-driven approaches to study cellular dynamics in tumors, combining single-cell genomics, cellular imaging and AI/ML approaches with large clinical datasets and experimental models. Students will have the opportunity to: - Gain hands-on experience in computational analysis of genomic datasets, imaging, and integrative multi-omics approaches. - Contribute to ongoing translational and clinical research projects, with potential for co-authorship on publications. - Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, computational scientists and cancer biologists. Projects are available for an eight-week summer period (May–July) or extended durations (up to a year). Students interested in computational medicine, genomics, oncology, or digital pathology and eager to develop skills in data-driven cancer research are encouraged to apply. Both in-person and remote opportunities are available, depending on the project scope. For more information or to discuss potential projects, please contact ivazquez-garcia@mgh.harvard.edu.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
