Overview
Dr. David T. Wu is a Periodontist and Lecturer in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Wu is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to patients, committed to developing novel biomaterials and medical devices to address unmet clinical needs, and passionate about inspiring the next generation of healthcare professional. Dr. Wu aims to bridge the gap between benchtop research and chairside treatment by translating basic science discoveries into the clinical arena, in order to enhance long-term treatment outcomes and patient quality of life.

As a clinician, his expertise is at intersection of periodontology and implant dentistry focused on developing innovative strategies for the repair and regeneration of soft and hard tissues of the craniofacial and periodontal complex. As a scientist, his research focuses on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and drug delivery using innovative biomaterials and applying bioengineering principles to potentiate cell function towards regenerative outcomes, and to predictably deliver drugs and biologics for wound healing. As an educator, Dr. Wu works on enhancing medical and dental education by integrating innovation into the curriculum and developing new tools and methods, and inspire students discover their path to a fulfilling career.
