Overview
I am a health services researcher focused on understanding health disparities to inform the development of innovative and multidisciplinary interventions to enhance health equity for historically underserved patient populations. My clinical experience and personal background serve as strong foundations for my clinical research at the intersection of equity, innovation and healthcare. The research work from our group has been recognized nationally and resulted in multiple peer reviewed publications, scientific presentations and extramural grant funding.

    Role Description: In collaboration with colleagues at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Dr. Lucy Spalluto Co-PI), the purpose of this proposal is to leverage community-based participatory research through design thinking sessions to develop online educational modules on high-priority health equity topics. These modules will be adaptable and applicable across diverse radiology practices and will be disseminated in collaboration with the ACR.

    Health Equity & Access for Lung Screening (HEALS): A study of multimodal digital outreach for lung cancer screening among current and former smokers with limited English proficiency
    Role Description: The overarching goal of this proposal is to leverage the opportune window created by the anticipated update in USPSTF eligibility criteria for LCS to implement a multimodal digital outreach intervention to increase LCS engagement among eligible Latino individuals and reduce disparities in lung cancer outcomes through early detection.
