Overview

Mentoring
Available: 06/01/24, Expires: 04/30/24

The primary goal of this research endeavor is to clinically validate a medical robot for MRI-guided prostate interventions. Students will actively engage in an NIH-funded study (5R01EB030539) focused on the development, testing, and clinical validation of an autonomous needle insertion robot designed to target cancerous lesions under MRI guidance. The specific role of each student will be determined based on their undergraduate research background, with a preference for those majoring in biomedical engineering or other engineering fields related to our laboratory's research domain. Successful candidates will become integral members of a well-established summer internship program, which has been running successfully for over 12 years and follows a robust curriculum. Over the course of this internship, students will gain valuable experience in conducting independent research. For insights into the program's effectiveness, you can review a successful study conducted by a former Harvard Medical School student who participated in this summer internship and continued her research during academic year. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25263213/.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
