Cultivating an Academic Medicine Physician: A Multi-Pronged Approach to Craft a Comprehensive Faculty Development Curriculum
Role Description: As an academic department nestled within a tertiary care academic center, our faculty are at the core of our work and department mission. They train residents through didactics, simulation and active learning at the bedside, teach medical students, and participate in research projects that push the boundaries of medical knowledge, all while providing exemplary care to our patients. Yet, throughout our training, the predominant focus is on providing clinical care. We as academic faculty are not specifically taught how to be academicians. Faculty development is an incredibly critical part of our mission as an academic center because it increases faculty retention, promotes academic success, and can decrease burnout. My project aims to address this gap in knowledge by developing a robust faculty development curriculum that includes topics our faculty have indicated they need.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
