Overview
Michael Wilson received his M.D. from the University of Michigan and his PhD. in Health Economics from Johns Hopkins University in 2010. He is a board certified Emergency Physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with fellowship training in Trauma and Critical Care Medicine, an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Affiliated Faculty at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University.

His research interests focus on measuring the value of emergency department care. At the broadest level, he seeks to develop a measure of emergency department performance along both quality and cost dimensions. His research projects examine variations in quality and cost and disparities by race, gender, and socioeconomic status for cohorts of patients who present to emergency departments for care. The goal of this research is to provide an evidence base for the construction of value-based incentives at the health system level.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
