Telemedicine’s Impact on Low-value Care Use in Medicare: Implications for Spending and Equity
Role Description: The proposed research will use national Medicare claims data alongside data from a large, multi-state health system to estimate the impact of telemedicine on low-value care use, total spending, and out-of-pocket spending, and to identify actionable mechanisms underlying these effects, both overall and among historically underserved populations.
    Role: Principal Investigator

DECODE: Diagnostic Excellence Center on Diagnostic Error
Role Description: We plan to establish a diagnostic excellence center focusing on decreasing diagnostic errors. This study will implement and evaluate a highly resilient system for care planning and coordination, as well as a peer learning system for clinical providers, and establish consensus on recommendations that will focus on enhancing diagnosis of four common diseases – lung, prostate, pancreas and adrenal cancer.
    Role: Co-Investigator

Evaluating an Intervention to Improve Medication Access and Quality of Care for Underserved Populations With Chronic Conditions
Role Description: Major Goals: This project will study how a new intervention --providing real-time information about patient out-of-pocket costs for medications in the electronic health record --affects medication utilization, disparities in receipt of guideline-concordant care for Black, Hispanic, or Latino and rural patients, and the implementation strategies that maximize impact.
    Role: Co-Investigator

The Role of Patient Choice in Telemedicine use among Medicare Beneficiaries
Role Description: The goal of this study is to use nationally representative Medicare survey data to assess sociodemographic, clinical, and technology factors associated with beneficiaries being offered or choosing telephone vs video visits.
