Overview
My goal is to use biology to inform preventative medicine, discover and develop treatments for disease.
By training, I have examined cellular biology and disease risk in patient-derived tissue. Experience in the clinical laboratory fostered a strong interest in using science to improve healthcare. Further training in pathology, tissue regeneration and molecular embryology facilitated discoveries using stem cells as potential regenerative or restorative therapies for disease. Current studies use induced pluripotent stem cells from members of several families to determine drug responsive, disease-associated phenotypes.
