Overview
Joshua P. Klein, MD, PhD, is a neurologist who specializes in hospital neurology and diagnostic neuroimaging. He is the founding Chief of the Division of Hospital Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Associate Professor of Neurology and Radiology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Klein graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania (1997) and from the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at Yale University School of Medicine (2005). He is a 2009 graduate of the Harvard (BWH/MGH) Neurology Residency Program where he served as chief resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroimaging at BWH and is board certified in both Neurology (ABPN) and Neuroimaging (UCNS).

Dr. Klein is a leader and innovator in hospital neurology and participated in the development and national advancement of this rapidly expanding subspecialty of neurology. The hospital neurology program that Dr. Klein founded at BWH -- the first such program at an HMS-affiliated hospital -- is one of the most academically productive programs in the U.S. and has served as a model program for many neurology departments.

Dr. Klein is a long-time member of the Boards of Directors of The Neurohospitalist Society and the American Society of Neuroimaging. He has published across many areas of clinical neurology, is a frequent invited lecturer at national and international conferences, has directed CME courses in Neurology (AudioDigest) and Hospital Medicine (Oakstone), and has served as Guest Editor of multiple issues of Seminars in Neurology and the AAN's Continuum journal. He co-authored/co-edited the three most recent editions of "Adams and Victor’s Principles of Neurology", the world’s leading textbook of neurology, as well as the "Oxford Textbook of Neurohematology" and the 10th edition of "Samuels’s Manual of Neurologic Therapeutics". Dr. Klein was selected as BWH/MGH Neurology Faculty Teacher of the Year in 2012 and as a Distinguished Clinician at BWH in 2017. He is a Fellow of the American Neurological Association (FANA), the American Society of Neuroimaging (FASN), and the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
