We have a fun and passionate team of physicians and scientists and love having students join us! Prior lab experience is a plus, but some projects are not wet-lab based. TSC is a multi-system disease in which benign tumors can occur in the brain, heart, skin, kidney, and lung. Available projects range from investigation of the TSC/mTOR signaling network in patient-derived cells, to genetic studies of human TSC tumors, to metabolomic profiling of TSC cells and patient plasma. These studies are likely to have relevance to the many human cancers in which the PI3K/TSC/mTOR signaling network is dysregulated.

Available: 06/27/17, Expires: 01/01/25

Identify proteins that interact with the tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) proteins and explore their role in the pathogenesis and treatment of TSC (an inherited disease causing autism and tumors of the kidney, lung, brain, and heart) and the related disorder, pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), which affects young women.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
