Dr. Clapp is a maternal-medicine physician and health services researcher focused on improving the quality of obstetric care and outcomes for pregnant individuals and neonates during labor and delivery. He completed his medical degree at the University of North Carolina and Masters in Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. He completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital and fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. His research is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research and focuses on novel behavioral strategies to improve patient care and examining the effects of health policies and practice changes on health outcomes. In addition to serving as a physician investigator, he serves as one of the Senior Chairs for the Mass General Brigham Institutional Review Board.
