Mentoring
Available: 01/28/25, Expires: 01/01/26

If you are interested in surgery and anesthesia, and, more specifically, in understanding the causes of life-threatening operative complications and devising preventive measures, then this opportunity is for you. You will be joining an energetic and enthusiastic group of physicians, residents, and medical students in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at MGH. We are interested in preventing the risk of pulmonary aspiration that has recently been associated with the use of glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists. We were one of the first three groups to recognize this problem and currently are one of the most active groups to produce and publish science on it. Your potential role is flexible, and, depending on your preferences and abilities, will involve collecting and analyzing patient data from electronic records, reviewing literature and assisting with manuscript writing. The goal is to help you provide results that would justify inclusion as a co-author in a published manuscript. Timing is flexible, but preference will be given to applicants that can and will start in the spring as a part-time effort and commit for a 3 week full-time engagement during the summer vacation. Three positions are available. Check PubMed for our recent publications if this interests you. This research is not funded by external bodies, and no additional funding is available from the mentor.

Bibliographic
Publications listed below are automatically derived from MEDLINE/PubMed and other sources, which might result in incorrect or missing publications. Faculty can login to make corrections and additions.
Newest   |   Oldest   |   Most Cited   |   Most Discussed   |   Timeline   |   Field Summary   |   Plain Text
PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
