Overview
Dr. Berzin is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He maintains a full-time clinical practice in interventional endoscopy, and has been named one of Boston Magazine's Top Doctors annually since 2017. Dr. Berzin's academic research efforts have focused on all aspects of GI endoscopy ranging from anesthesia safety to new innovations in interventional endoscopy, and he has authored over 175 publications, including in Lancet, NEJM, Gut, and Nature BME. His work in artificial intelligence applications for GI endoscopy, which began as a collaboration with MIT colleagues in 2014, has led to several of the first U.S. and international trials on computer aided polyp detection, and the subsequent FDA approval of these technologies. He has given over 200 invited lectures nationally and internationally on all aspects of GI endoscopy. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Berzin has served as an advisor to over 20 medical device companies, digital health start-ups, and venture capital firms.
