Clinical research tailored to the motivated student's interest spanning outcomes or addressing novel questions in the role of radiation therapy for a variety of neurological indications from malignant to benign tumors to nontumor indications for brain/ocular radiation therapy. Projects can be clinically focused or translationally focused with other multidisciplinary clinical services or with medical physics.

Available: 01/02/24, Expires: 12/31/24

Work with a MGH clinician and Boston municipal courts on assessing gaps in care of those in need of civil commitment from drugs/alcohol (Section 35). Study patterns of individuals with repeat commitments and help define effective long-term recovery pathways. Topics of focus can be led by the student, spanning age, race, gender, homelessness, education, other social determinants of health.

Available: 05/06/24, Expires: 05/01/25

MGH treats a diverse range of patients with benign to malignant brain tumors and also non-tumor diagnoses. Tehcnology and multidisciplinary care has advanced patient outcomes. Take lead of a retrospective study to review the evolving outcomes of patients who receive state of the art proton and/or photon radiation therapy for any of a number of common to rare diagnoses. These include meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, arteriovenous malformations, trigeminal neuralgia, solitary fibrous tumors, pilocytic astrocytomas, optic gliomas, and much more.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
