A Randomized Trial Comparing Approaches to Promote Informed Decisions about Cancer Screening in Older Adults (PRIMED study)
Role Description: The purpose of this trial is to compare the effectiveness of providing clinicians with (1) a standard registry of their 76-85 year old patients’ cancer screening status and (2) the registry plus intensive training in shared decision making skills. We will examine impact on patients’ reports of shared decision making for colorectal cancer screening, the percentage of patients receiving their preferred approach to screening, screening rates, and clinician confidence in shared decision making.

Precision Medicine in Ischemic Stroke and Atrial Fibrillation (PreMISe-AF)
Role Description: The major goals of this project are: 1) implement a clinical AF risk estimation tool in the EHR among acute stroke patients at Massachusetts General Hospital, 2) derive a polygenic risk score for AF and assess discrimination of cardioembolic stroke risk, and 3) pilot a polygenic risk assay for AF in stroke patients.

Multi-level Optimization of the Cervical Cancer Screening Process in Diverse Settings & Populations (METRICS)
Role Description: The goal of METRICs is to generate crucial information about the cervical screening process that will identify points and strategies for intervention to improve guideline adherence and reduce disparities. Three complementary projects will elucidate at what level disparities in screening process occur, programs and policies that influence screening adherence, and precision screening for subgroups at increased cancer risk.
