Overview
Dr. Booma is the Chief of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatryand Director of the Child Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Additionally, she is the director of The Resilience Project at NWH, an innovative community and school based initiative to improve mental health of children, teens, and families. She is Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
For her post-graduate training, Dr. Booma completed residency in the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) / McLean Hospital combined general pediatrics and adult psychiatry program, followed by subspecialty fellowship at MGH / McLean in child and adolescent psychiatry. She earned her M.D. from the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. Prior to medical school, Dr. Booma completed a research year in the pharmacology and genetics research program at Duke University Medical School's Department of Surgery, and was a Lead Teacher at the Emory Autism Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University's School of Medicine.
Dr. Booma is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is licensed to practice medicine by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, Massachusetts Psychiatric Society, and Massachusetts Medical Society.
