Overview
As an epidemiologist trained in preventive medicine, cardiovascular epidemiology, and aging epidemiology, Dr. Ma's research interests lie in the epidemiology and prevention of aging-related diseases, with a focus on cardiovascular disease and vascular contributions to brain aging and dementia. Dr. Ma's research work has investigated modifiable vascular risk factors and the development of effective intervention strategies for the prevention of hypertension and cardiovascular disease in prospective cohort studies, randomized trials, and health policy modeling studies. Dr. Ma's current research work aims to improve our understanding of how vascular factors contribute to brain aging and dementia using multidisciplinary approaches that integrate advanced epidemiological methods with cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques, neuropathology data, and multi-omics methods in epidemiological studies. Dr. Ma is a recipient of the American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, the National Academy of Medicine Healthy Longevity Catalyst Award, and the NIH K99 Pathway to Independence Award.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
