Guaiacum

"Guaiacum" is a descriptor in the National Library of Medicine's controlled vocabulary thesaurus, MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). Descriptors are arranged in a hierarchical structure, which enables searching at various levels of specificity.

A plant genus of the family ZYGOPHYLLACEAE. GUAIAC is obtained from G. officinale or G. sanctum. Some species in this genus are called lignum vitae which is also a common name for other trees.
