My long-term research interests involve the mechanism of human tumorigenesis, targeted therapy of human cancers, the mechanisms of therapeutic response, and the mechanism of drug resistance to targeted therapies. My academic training and research experience have provided me with an excellent background in multiple biological disciplines including molecular biology, microbiology, and cell biology to successfully carry out the proposed research project. During my doctoral research, I was working on targeted therapeutics for human cancers using small-molecule inhibitors of various kinases. During my postdoctoral research in Dr. Ji's lab, my research focuses on developing novel therapeutic strategies and generating novel, inducible mouse models for pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. I received the 2018 APA Young Investigator Award. Now during my second postdoctoral research in Dr. Jia's lab, my research focuses on the oncogenic WNT signaling and the resistant mechanism of BET bromodomain inhibitor JQ1 in prostate cancers and CDK12 degraders for prostate cancer therapy. The proposed research and training will further enhance my ability to be an independent investigator. And after years of efforts, I have successfully carried out and deeply involved in several projects.
