Laurie Samuels Pascal, MBA, MPH

Laurie Pascal is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Policy and Management, where she teaches graduate and executive education courses on organizational behavior, leadership and management, team effectiveness, and organizational change. She also led the development of, and directed, the new foundational MPH core curriculum at Harvard Chan School. She received the Outstanding Teaching in Executive and Continuing Professional Education Award for 2019.

Ms. Pascal designs and directs forward-looking executive education program for both clinical and nonclinical healthcare leaders from the U.S. and abroad. Recent programs include Culture of Health, International Leadership Development Program for Physicians, and Women on Boards: Getting on and Adding Value. Her work internationally includes creating and delivering programs for the National Health Service England, Queensland (Australia) Health and the Gulf Health Council. In addition, she teaches in several executive education leadership programs for physicians and health care executives at Harvard Chan, as well as Health in the 21st Century Workshops for Latin American healthcare executives.

Her consulting work with individuals, hospitals and health systems focuses in the areas of enhancing individual leadership, team dynamics and organizational effectiveness, and strategic planning and implementation.

Previously Ms. Pascal served as Vice President of Business Development & Planning and Vice President of Radiology for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She previously held senior executive positions at Tufts Health Plan, BankBoston and Pine Manor College. She is on the Boards of Trustees of Lasell University and Goddard House Assisted Living, and is a member of the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Ethics Advisory Group.

Ms. Pascal holds a BA in psychology from University of Michigan, an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, and an MPH from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She was also awarded an honorary doctorate from Pine Manor College.
