Our Genomes2Veteran Research Program (https://www.genomes2people.org/research/genomes2veterans/) studies how doctors and patients use genetic and genomic information to improve patient healthcare and health outcomes. Our research integrates genetic or genomic information into the real-world practice of medicine, including primary care settings. Current ongoing studies include a randomized controlled trial of polygenic risk scores for common diseases such as type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer and a second large trial of precision prostate cancer screening. We are also leading the Million Veteran Program Return Of Actionable Results (MVP-ROAR) Study, in which MVP study participants across the country are being recontacted and invited to learn more about potentially clinically actionable genetic results identified in their study data (https://www.mvp.va.gov/pwa/). We collaborate widely across the larger Harvard community, including Brigham and Women's Hospital, Ariadne Labs, and the Broad Institute. Students have multiple opportunities to engage in all aspects of outcomes research and lead independent projects potentially resulting in presentation or publication.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
