Dr. Horsky leads design, implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, informaticists, computer scientists, developers and corporate stakeholders. Primary concern is the safety and effectiveness of clinical decision support interventions, medication ordering and reconciliation and care coordination. His research interests include the quality and safety of care through improved HIT and innovation, interoperability, usability and integration into clinical workflows to reduce medical error. He led effort to evaluate information systems for meaningful use certification. He also investigated gaps in interoperability of ED clinical systems and new interventions to support handoffs and care transition in collaboration with the New York Academy of Medicine.
