Overview
Dr. Rozenblum is a healthcare executive, researcher, lecturer and entrepreneur. He is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. He is also the founding Director of the Unit for Innovative Healthcare Practice & Technology and Director of Business Development of the Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Rozenblum is an expert and international leader in patient-centered care, patient experience and engagement, and health information technology. His research, lectures and contributions in these domains have been recognized nationally and internationally.

Dr. Rozenblum holds a Masters in Public Health (MPH) and a PhD in Business Administration, Health Management and Economics. In 2011, he completed his post-doctoral research fellowship in patient-centered care, patient experience and engagement, and medical informatics at Harvard Medical School.

Based on his combined academic and business background, Dr. Rozenblum established, developed and manages the Unit for Innovative Healthcare Practice & Technology. The mission of the unit is to establish and support a structured, long-term relationship between the Center of Patient Safety Research and Practice and the industry through scientifically proven digital and information systems, methods and practices.

Dr. Rozenblum led and was involved in numerous research projects and quality improvement initiatives related to patient-centered care and health information technology. He has a wide breadth of expertise and practical knowledge in developing and implementing innovative methods and information technologies to enhance patient-centered care, patient experience and engagement. He has trained many clinicians to implement these tools in clinical settings and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. He is involved in a variety of teaching and mentoring activities at the Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Rozenblum published many papers related to patient-centered care, patient experience and engagement and co-edited a pioneering book on health information technology and patient empowerment, titled “Information Technology for Patient Empowerment in Healthcare.”

Among other activities, Dr. Rozenblum was appointed as an International Expert at the International Society of Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) and was elected to become a lifetime member of the Academy of Quality and Safety in Health Care (IAQS), which recognizes distinguished individuals who have made a significant contribution in the field of Quality and Safety in Healthcare around the world. He also co-leads the development of patient-centered care criteria for the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program Accreditation in the U.S., and was part of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Expert Consultation group, which was working on the establishment of an international framework for patient and family engagement. He was also part of the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) Expert Group that worked on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health Care and reported to the Congress in the U.S., and currently a member of the Steering Committee that evaluate the national rollout of the National Health Service (NHS) App in England. Additionally, he has been involved in various activities to promote patient-centered care in Israel together with the Israeli Ministry of Health.

Dr. Rozenblum has been also involved in establishing and managing startup companies in the healthcare industry and has considerable experience in business development, marketing and management in this industry.
