Joshua P. Klein, MD, PhD, is a neurologist who specializes in hospital neurology and diagnostic neuroimaging. He is the founding Chief of the Division of Hospital Neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). Dr. Klein's Division is the first academic neurohospitalist service among Harvard Medical School's affiliated hospitals, and one of only a few nationwide.

Dr. Klein graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania (1997) and then from the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at Yale University School of Medicine (2005). He is a 2009 graduate of the Harvard (BWH/MGH) Neurology Residency Program where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at BWH, and is board certified in both Neurology (ABPN) and Neuroimaging (UCNS).

He is Chair of the Neurohospitalist Section of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Neurohospitalist Society. He is Chair of the Membership Committee, member of the Board of Directors, and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN). He is a member of the Editorial Board of Access Medicine Neurology (McGraw Hill), and Scientific Chair of the Audio Digest Foundation Neurology Board Review Course.

At BWH, he is Clinical Service Director and Director of Performance Improvement for Neurology, and Chair of the Neurology Finance Committee. He served for six years as Associate Director of the Neurology Medical Student Clerkship.

He is a frequent lecturer at national and international conferences and has published extensively. With his clinical mentors Allan H. Ropper and Martin A. Samuels he co-authored the 10th Edition of “Adams and Victor's Principles of Neurology”, and is currently co-authoring the 11th Edition of the same title.
