The laboratory is focused on applying cellular models to drive development of the next generation of therapeutics for brain diseases. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants their work to impact real-world care of people with serious mental illness. Projects will be laboratory-based investigating mechanisms of aberrant CNS cellular function (microglia, neurons, and/or astrocytes) in patient-derived in vitro cellular models of schizophrenia and other neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, using genetic engineering and/or molecular perturbagens. Experience and expressed interests in tissue culture, neurobiology, stem cell biology, neural disease modeling are a plus.
