Dr. Arnett and her research team aim to improve precision medicine care for children and families affected by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Dr. Arnett's laboratory investigates brain-behavior associations leading to atypical neurodevelopment among children. Currently funded research projects involve collecting EEG/ERP, neuropsychological, and genetic data on school-aged children with ADHD or young children who have familial risk for ADHD. Existing data sets include 1) EEG, ERP, behavioral and cognitive data on n = 100 school-aged children with ADHD and 30 controls; 2) repeat EEG/ERP data on 40 children with ADHD and 15 controls; 3) medication response data on n = 30 children with ADHD. Medical students are encouraged to participate in laboratory meetings and journal clubs, and to conduct secondary analyses on existing data for presentation at professional conferences and co-publication in peer reviewed journals.
