Mentoring
Available: 01/06/25, Expires: 12/31/25

This opportunity is to engage in Food is Medicine clinical research projects. Depending on the student's skills, interests, background, and availability, we can tailor the student's role to a specific project. Some of the projects include: 1) Receipt of Plant-Based Food Packages and Adult Chronic Disease Outcomes in Massachusetts from 2020 to 2024: a retrospective study of ~300 people who received plant-based family food packages from 2020-2024. Activities may include, but not be limited to: literature review, data cleaning, data analysis, chart review, assistance with manuscript development and submission. 2) Impact of a plant-based food pantry intervention on dietary quality and health outcomes in households with children: a single arm prospective study of weekly plant-based food packages paired with an optional family-based culinary and lifestyle medicine curriculum. Follow up survey data will be completed by June 2025. Activities may include, but not be limited to: literature review, data cleaning, data analysis, chart review, assistance with manuscript development and submission. 3) Additional projects are available, and students are encouraged to contact the faculty mentor to discuss further.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
