Sex chromosome gene regulatory networks and COPD
Role Description: There are significant sex differences in COPD epidemiology and clinical manifestations, however sex-based analyses of genomic data have been limited, neglecting an essential biological variable for advancing precision medicine for lung diseases. We propose integrating X chromosome multi-omic data, X chromosome inactivation patterns, and network analysis to better understand sex-biased regulation of X chromosome genes in COPD susceptibility and heterogeneity. Understanding the X chromosome genetic, epigenetic, and regulatory network features associated with COPD will provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying sex differences in COPD susceptibility, emphysema, and lung function, and facilitate future development of sex-aware diagnostics and therapeutics.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
