Overview
Natalie Justicz is a PGY4 in the Harvard Residency Program in Otolaryngology. She grew up in Atlanta and went on to attend Stanford University, graduating in 2009 with a degree in Human Biology. She participated in undergraduate research in Huntington's disease (hopes.stanford.edu) and biomedical ethics. After college, she taught middle school science for two years with Teach For America in New Orleans, LA, where her students achieved significant classroom gains (donorschoose.org/njusticz). She returned to Atlanta to attend medical school at Emory, continuing her interest in education by serving as a student member of the EUSOM Curriculum Committee. At MEEI, she has developed a same-day thyroidectomy discharge protocol and a thyroid nodule patient decision aid. She has participated in global surgery programs and published on academic development in LMICs. She is interested in surgical simulation, medical education and reconstructive surgery.
