Overview
I'm interested in using ex vivo machine perfusion technology to resuscitate and rehabilitate discarded donor organs for transplantation. Currently, we are exploring normothermic machine perfusion as a platform for modulating discarded human livers that are inadequate for transplantation. My interests are in exploring mechanisms that underlie the deficits these "marginal" organs face during perfusion as a means of improving their function prior to transplantation. We are exploring this through multi-omics methods, including metabolomics, lipidomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
