Overview
The major goal of Dr. Albert C. Yang's research is the detection of hidden information in neurophysiologic signals using techniques adapted from statistical physics and nonlinear dynamics. The major application of this on-going work is to develop novel techniques for identifying objective biomarkers of psychiatric disorders and for understanding the pathophysiology of the mental illness.

Brain Signal Analysis[login at prompt]
Available: 07/26/17, Expires: 07/31/19

The project is dedicated to the research focusing on improving the precision of the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. We aim to apply novel techniques of biomedical signal analysis for identifying dynamical biomarkers of psychiatric disorders and for understanding the pathophysiology of the mental illness. Potential student will learn biomedical signal analysis and apply these methods to brain signal data from functional MRI or EEG, and to carry out a scholarly project in the field of psychiatry and clinical neuroscience.
