I work with the Center for Global Cancer Medicine at Dana-Farber. We support cancer programs in Rwanda and Haiti, in collaboration with Partners in Health. We have mentored several HMS students and trainees over the years. We have a variety of projects with varying timelines.
Projects may entail in-country experiences to assist with data collection; database analyses; working on review articles; and systematic analyses. We also have opportunities that are based in Boston and can mentor trainees on self-directed projects.
Ideal minimum commitment from trainee is 8 weeks for international projects. There is some flexibility for longitudinal projects based in Boston. We have also successfully supported students and trainees to apply for international year-long training grants like Fogarty and Fulbright awards
Ideal candidates have a skill set or are willing to learn/develop skills in any of these domains: database management, survey design and development, data analyses including regression, academic writing, GIS/spatial analyses, costing analyses, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.
