Overview
Muthiah Vaduganathan, MD MPH is a cardiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA).
He entered the medical field as a part of Northwestern University's Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME). Through this 7-year longitudinal program, he received a bachelor's degree in biological sciences (2008) and a medical doctorate (2012). During his time at Northwestern University (Chicago, IL), he also earned a Master of Public Health degree (2012) and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, MA), and served as a Chief Medical Resident at Newton-Wellesley Hospital (Newton, MA).
He is Co-Director of the Center for Cardiometabolic Implementation Science at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research focuses on drug development, clinical trials, and implementation of cardio-renal-metabolic therapies. He has authored or co-authored more than 450 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Vaduganathan serves on the editorial boards of the European Journal of Heart Failure, JACC Heart Failure (Social Media / CME Editor), & JACC (FIT / Early Career Section Editor). He participates in the leadership teams of ongoing advanced-phase trials in HF and cardiometabolic medicine.
