Investigate molecular and immunological mechanisms that regulate sleep responses to sleep loss and pathogens. The candidate will used molecular, immunological, and neuroscience techniques including real-time polymerase chain reaction, western blot analysis, immunohistochemistry, and polysomnogray using models which target particular inflammatory genes. A basic understanding of immunology and neuroscience is required.
