Rhodomicrobium

"Rhodomicrobium" is a descriptor in the National Library of Medicine's controlled vocabulary thesaurus, MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). Descriptors are arranged in a hierarchical structure, which enables searching at various levels of specificity.

A genus, in the family HYPHOMICROBIACEAE, comprised of ovoid-shaped bacteria with polar growth and a characteristic vegetative growth cycle. Cells grow preferably photoheterotrophically under anaerobic conditions in the light, but will also grow under microaerobic or aerobic conditions in the dark.
