Dr. Scarella is an instructor in psychiatry in the department of psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is a staff psychiatrist on the Consultation-Liaison and Ambulatory Psychiatry services in the hospital, and is an Associate Program Director for the BIDMC-Harvard Psychiatry Residency Training Program. His clinical interests include somatic symptom disorders, illness anxiety, and functional neurologic disorder. Other interests include physician wellness and curricular development for graduate medical education.
