Leveraging AI tools for prediction of cardiac remodeling to enhance diagnosis and therapy in women with severe aortic stenosis
Role Description: Women with severe aortic stenosis, i.e. narrowing of aortic valve opening, are often diagnosed at later ages, and reported to be undertreated with excess mortality versus men. We propose an artificial intelligence (AI) powered, mathematical approach that strives to eliminate such imbalances with focus on left ventricle sex-specific shape analysis to ensure equivalent care for all patients with severe aortic stenosis.
    Role: Multi Principal Investigator

Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
    Connectomic Biomarkers of Parkinson’s Disease
Role Description: We aim to derive and validate novel connectomic imaging biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD) by modeling brain connectivity while considering multi-synaptic neural pathways, i.e. those relayed through other regions. We will further improve MRI biomarkers of PD by devising a novel super-resolution approach that exploits information hidden within diffusion MRI to increase the spatial resolution of the image, which is useful in studying small PD-related brain structures and in post-DBS imaging. Finally, to maximize the impact of our efforts, we will incorporate all the tools developed in this project and those we previously developed for connectomic analysis in the widely used open-source neuroimaging package, FreeSurfer.
    Role: Principal Investigator

Connectomic biomarkers of preclinical Alzheimer’s disease within multi-synaptic pathways
Role Description: In this project, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, we will define both vulnerable and resilient brain networks involved in aging and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and uncover new imaging biomarkers to improve AD diagnosis and treatment. Normal aging, as well as occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases such as AD, can be better understood by mapping complex structural and functional brain networks through which information flows, and via the discovery of important biomarkers that shed light on aging and neurodegenerative disease.
    Role: Principal Investigator

Connectomic Biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease Observed in Multi-Synaptic Pathways

Bibliographic
Publications listed below are automatically derived from MEDLINE/PubMed and other sources, which might result in incorrect or missing publications. Faculty can login to make corrections and additions.
Newest   |   Oldest   |   Most Cited   |   Most Discussed   |   Timeline   |   Field Summary   |   Plain Text
PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
