1) Research in the area of the therapeutic relationship and cognitive-behavioral therapies. I am specifically interested in the specific components that constitute the effectiveness of developing a therapeutic relationship during the course of treatment. 2) Any research project that addresses the concept of whether or not medical students and/or medical residents learn more effectively from case-based research as opposed to qualitative (empirical) research studies. This may involve analyzing the specific effectiveness of case consultations as opposed to reviewing outcome research in the professional literature. 3) research in the area of the Neurotoxic effects of mental illness on the brain and whether or not this condition contributes to the exacerbation of existing psychopathology. The initial aspect of this research will involve a review of the literature to determine what studies exist on the investigation of this phenomenon. The result of the literature review will culminate in an article to be submitted for publication.
