This is an autism-focused project intended to examine the various health policy issues that affect children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. The research has four main areas of focus: health services access and use, healthcare transition to adult care, family impact, and health outcomes measurement. Individual studies are currently being conducted within each of these areas of focus. A mentee who joins this project would be given the opportunity to develop their own small scale study (within one of the four areas listed above) or join an existing study as a research assistant. He/she would be expected to publish a scholarly paper on this work at the conclusion of the mentorship.
