 Mentoring
 current student opportunities
Available: 07/01/11, Expires: 06/01/13

We are interested in lifestyle, medication, diet, and genetic risk factors for chronic gastrointestinal diseases, including colorectal cancer, gallstone disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases. My group uses epidemiological techniques to examine risk factors and genetic markers in relation to disease incidence in large prospective cohorts based at Harvard. Depending on the student's abilities, a student can assist with review of medical records, assembly of data bases, literature reviews, and statistical analyses.

 completed student projects
A prospective study of circulating macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1 (MIC-1) levels and risk of colorectal cancer
