Quality of care has not been a priority for many programs operating in resource limited settings. Projects have been ongoing at Partners in Health supported sites focusing on building capacity and measuring and improving quality and system and care. Our group is also working to develop effective approaches to merge monitoring and evaluation with QI, expand use of existing data sources and build capacity in country to better understand barriers to quality and implement improvement. The role of the student will depend on his/her background in statistical analysis and can range from literature review to assisting in data analysis and write-ups. Opportunities for work in Africa over the summer is also a possibility.
